Matt Cutts "a faster web is great for everyone, but especially for users. Lots of websites have demonstrated that speeding up the user experience results in more usage. So speeding up your website isn’t just something that can affect your search rankings–it’s a fantastic idea for your users."

Google admitted that page speed is one of ranking factors. They have a tool which measures sites loading time: PageSpeed Insights
The result is between 0 and 100. Everything above 80 is ok.

Also, if your site loads slow, your bounce rate will jump and you will lose both visitor and google ranking.

Actully, the exact answer is that if your page speed is high, people will likely spend more time and use it more times, so it will increase your time spent and decrease your bounce rate, and that is what Google is interested, low bounce rate and high quality time spent.

I recommend you to check Google Page Speed (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/?csw=1) it will help you to detect what is slowing down your website and how to fix it. Good luck!

Page Speed matters for visitors on your website, if your visitors love your website, it will automatically rank up.

Other important thing which matters most in SEO is unique, attractive, content. Spend more time on content of your website than spending on SEO methods.

It is very important. If your web page speed is low, user or searcher come to your site and access internal pages that improve your bounce rate.

The importance of site speed is not all about the bots and the crawlers. Site users should also be considered when optimizing site speed.
They are the ones who make traffic and goal conversion. If they leave the site because of having a problem with its speed then it will be a waste or a loss for the site.
In short, every part of SEO is essential whether if it is simple or complicated.

Yes. It directly affects your ranking.

Think in this way, if your website is loading very slow, then it will timeout most of the time and Google would not like to promote such a website.
