So this morning when I woke up first thing I did was to check my inbox. I received this famed email "FileSonic DMCA."

[SLIDE]http://lulzimg.com/i16/91758e.png[/SLIDE]

I know it is the same email the user masalalover2010 received before his filesonic account got disabled. I know he/she ignored the email and uploaded again the files which were infringed on. But I did not ignore the email. I immediately deleted all my remaining copies of the files whose copyright they claim to be infringed and will never upload them again.

Should I still be worried?

By the way how does this email differ from the regular "Files Deleted" email? Is there no DMCA complaint involved in the latter, just Filesonic's sole discretion to delete a file for thinking it is a copyrighted material?

if you have a dynamic IP just stop using that account and make a new one :P

Or risk loosing your earnings from uploaded files in that account.

I also got one, last week, for a movie I uploaded. But yeah, I don't make much money out of it so no huge deal for me.

It is something to keep in mind though. I personally prefer FileServe because they are much faster, both down-, and uploading from my US VPS. :S

I received "Files Deleted" letters from FileSonic everyday.
But never receive this kind of mail.
I think the "Files Deleted" might be deleting files by filenames filter.
And the letter you received looks like directly point to you.

Would be a nice move if they'd just delete the files in order to satisfy the industry.

Banning on top is their own, free and uncalled for will. I don't get it.

i dont use filesonic but it just seems like the same type of emails hotfile would give out for copyright files. just their own unique type of warning though.

The usual files deleted e-mail looks like this:

The following file(s) have been deleted due to copyright infringement :
-CJBEKing.rar

FileSonic Über Team

:D The one he received is different :o You must take precautions X-(
