hi guys,

left the movies streaming industry since 2019,
it's been four years and I see a halt in the grey area business as I don't see any big contender other than the usual fmoviesz etc on the net rn,

how are you guys doing it?
are they even making any $? since google will fry your A$$ once you get any traffic naturally.

just wanted to have a good chit-chat after being away for so long!

Welcome back buddy, the industry has dried out quite significantly. Porn appears to be the buzz now.

I am in the hosting industry so anyone looking for Fully Managed, DMCA ignored VPS for their porn or movie site give me a shout

yeah, after some probing around here, porn seems to be all the craze, since it garners less attention from DMCA and you can propagate a porn site with your niche quite easily with old porn videos that can be found EVERYWHERE without getting into much of trouble.

but the quality of your traffic will be bad if you don't know what your doing though.

I tried wandering into the porn / hentai / jav side before quitting too, the experience I had in converting sales or getting good ads CPM is difficult! always barely covering the hosting costs etc. Not to mention dealing with so much porn every day is stress on the mind! you might not feel it at first but after some time, your values for sex will slowly be warped, that's when I decided to quit.

I was one of the very first porn webmasters, I currently have a site with over 500k monthly visits and earning a nice amount of profit after server costs.

Its not that difficult I have never used third party video hosts, in this business you need to host your own for full earnings.

These uploaders using third party video hosts are foolish and will never get anywhere as the hosts take 70-90% of the earnings from uploader traffic.

My long term partner / friend hosts the videos on offshore servers with no video player adverts. Everything is covered
yep, the lower profile you are, the better, it's better that you stay under the radar longer, and if like you said "partner" for the servers are even better!
I wish you all the best, Faptain!

No need to lower profile, nobody is really interested in porn like they are with movies and TV. This is due to the nature of content, porn is far more controversial.

I will follow up with details on the job in next days, looking forward to working with you

Does this host provide any SLA? And what about the bandwidth and storage costs? They seem to be quite high, and they are also maintaining and backing up stuff!
If you familiar with the hosting can please answer it https://www.wjunction.com/threads/how-is-it-profitable-for-file-host.261574/
I am really curious about all this stuff!
Filehosts are extremely complex infrastructure which takes many years to master with knowledge in many different areas. Nobody can give you an answer to that question on these forums.

How about using third party video host with 0 ads and then using your own ads? Costs a lot less

Third party players like doodstream etc don't have options for zero ads, their bare minimum ads are 1, but it wouldn't surprise me that they might throw in 2 on random viewers so you don't notice. They do provide premium bandwidth for an adfree experience, but last time I checked doodstream was $20 per 1TB and let's say you buy that and each 1080p movie is around 3gb, that's 3333 ish views you'll get for that 1TB bandwidth.

Now my service gets around 50,000 ad support views a month, 1 pop ad and 1 social add.... so you want to know the CPMs...

Pop ads $0.248 per 1000
Social bar $0.457 per 1000

that means to earn back my $20 premium bandwidth I'd have to have:

24 pop ads per player
13 social bar ads per player

Math:

$20 (price) ÷ $0.248 (per 1000 views) = 80,645 (need views)
80,645 (needed views) ÷ 3333 (proposed views for 1tb) = 24.19 (pop ads per player)

Ad provider is Adsterra, I'm sure video providers are working either closely with ad providers for a higher CPM or quite frankly probably a better ad provider haha

Its on decline generally, people can't buy more stuff with lesser money, etc. Also the income of ads have been hit too.
it's not a wonder, the new generation of internet users are much more tech savvy if not even their friends might give suggestions to install "adblocker" which might affect your ads performance. and the quality of your audience isn't all that great as they're mostly here for the free stuff.

the rates are kinda low I heard that popads (the old one) is giving a rates of $0.70 but that's for their aggressive ads which might turn your users away.

Sure, but I wonder why they need offshore hosting when they are just going to use Cloudflare XD

BTW, your site uses CF too! Just to let you know they just have unlimited policy for html, js and css content rest might get you pushed to upgrade to there service for image/ storage.

In recent news I saw certain "manga" sites getting banned from CloudFlare, so I'm thinking alternatives might popup, what are you guys using as of late? or do you go with CloudFlare first before finding an alternative once the traffic gets too busy.

I feel that BIG corporations run the internet now, not like in the early days where the internet was like the wild wild west. Google search results for big keywords are for the larger players only, If you want to make money legitimately you'll have to go for the low hanging fruits.

Yeah, but I think they are neutral about it. 99% of all piracy sites use CF. If they want, they can ban all those sites without any issue and save money.

Rest alternatives are https://ddos-guard.net, https://sucuri.net etc

I have seen that most piracy users don't use Google they use DDG/ Yandex to find their content, so it's a bit easier to get traffic from there.

1TB ÷ 3GB is 333 Three Hundred Thirty Three views.
