How to totaly protect the forum?

Hi guys...I would like that you write me how to get to the highest point of security and protect my forum...Last night forum was haced and I don't wont it to happen.Thx

limit your mods you have on the forum things like the arcade or chatbox
make sure you are using secure passwords
.htaccess the admin area this will give you added protection if they did crack your password
make sure your board is up to date

Don't you have a database backup? I always keep a backup of the database and the home directory , you should do the same

Actually i think this thread needs to be expanded into wjunction.

I myself don't know alot about securing a forum, sure vbulletin (up to date) does most work but there are tons of extra's that can be added/modified in the hosting panel itself.
Depening on what hosting you have ofcourse.

I have been "hacked" also before, the hacker turned my page into a this domain name is reserved page.

But from my personal experience and others it seems alot of new webmasters don't know anything about properly securing there forum.

You can do that via .htaccess

It's great to hear a woman can hack lol. Now you ALL should know 'Never give out your hosting info' - even if its a person who is really close, who knows they can turn they're back on you, and screw you.
