Hi

We are preparing for a short film . We have a mosquito destroyer liquid bottle (All Out). We are planning to thow away refil stick inside the bottle and clean it water. Then wipe it dry cloth and then let it dry for 2 days. Then again clean it water and dry it for 2 more days. (Both bottle and its cap)

Could any one please suggest a more safest way to clean the poison bottle so that we can pore water in it and drink during the act. Also we are not looking for anyother bottles as All Out bottles are domestic and make it realistic.

Please be really serious about this thread. No off topic replies please.

WD, may i have your kind sarcasm out of this thread please. I request this is something really serious :)

What I usually do when cleaning bottles, not exactly the same bottle that you'll be using, is just liquid detergent. Fill it with liquid detergent then shake it very well. Do this step several times until the smell of the mosquito liquid is out.

Isopropanol , and alcohol cleaner really .. shake it inside the bottle and user it throughout the cap, then dump out and let it dry, then repeat using soap & hot water (really hot), then let it dry and rinse with just warm water.

Then you should be all good :)

Why can't you just use another bottle like a water bottle or something?
The health risks involved using a "cleaned" poison container are kinda hard to ignore.

Buy a un-used, un-marked marked bottle, steam off the label and replace it.

Thats what I would do if I was the poor chap who needed to drink from it =)

Put water in the bottle then put cling film around the top of the bottle, where the brim is, then when the actor goes to take a drink the cling film will stop the water going into their mouth.

Hey bro, i am a medical surgeon and i dont recomend you doing this.
Safest way is obviously like everyone says, use another bottle and put a label on it.

However, if u really want to use this bottle you could clean it the way you said, adding some antiseptics, detergent, and then cleaning it with charcoal, let it dry for days and finally look for a dental clinic that will let you use their sterilizing machine, its a 15 min procedure. I know it wont be easy to find.

if you want the movie to look so realistic and crap why don't you just drink the poison in front of camera

Try washing it with vinegar (not really sure if that will work), but after you clean it out, use a plastic bag and fill it up with water. Use a glue gun glue the top of the bottle to the bag.. . this is just to be safe even though the bottle is cleaned.

If the bottle has chemicals, I will assume the bottle has a dark tint, so I doubt the bag will be visible.

Water alone will not clean it properly. You should use soap at least.
