How do they do this ? (vbulletin, wordpress)

Im in a learning period on making wordpress theme's and saw this some weeks ago on riftjunkies.com On the post under the title they have it like this: {title} This article is categorized under {category}. Discuss this article in the {name=>link to the forum post}. How do they do this ? I have searched everywhere for a plugin or script or something. I am soon done with my first theme and i would really like to have like this but in my style.

You need to learn php, mysql, java script, jquery, ajax etc.
