High RAM use

What is main thing required for good site speed that is hosted on server..
IS High RAM help for fast load of website?or what?


Please help me to undersatnd this

-Good network speed on server (High Bandwidth)
-Optimized Webserver & Database configurations
-Caching

Disk IO. RAM would be good for caching but things still need to be loaded from disk.

besides RAM , also the good network and of course all this without the appropriate configuration (optimizing PHP , MYSQL, APACHE...etc) equals zero

Really if possible move all php processing and web processing to ram as much as possible.

As for the amount of ram needed it depends on how many visitors you have a second. With the right configuration and 1.5gb of ram you could hand a easy 10,000 visitors on a single site.
