Help with VPS

I am not sure how to work with a VPS, and I don't want to buy one if I'm gonna not be able to get it set up.

I'm going to be purchasing the first Starter VPS from Santrex.net.

Can someone go in depth on what exactly I do to get the following installed and running:

Webserver (apache, lighttpd, etc)
Control Panel (LxAdmin or CPanel [i have a nulled cpanel download])
PHP
MySQL

And any other useful or necessary scripts needed for securing my VPS.

Anyone's help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It'll come with LxAdmin installed, to install things like PHP and MySQL you'll need to login to SSH and run the proper commands.
 
PHP and MySQL come pre-installed with the VPS aswell as PHPmyadmin and all that youd find on shared hosting.

If you did need any help then just ask me and ill glad to be off assistance. Also that the same company i will be purchasing from. Which plan you getting?
 
"Thanks for your interest. Yes, these VPS do support MySQL servers but you will need to install and configure the server yourself as our VPS's are unmanaged. We would be willing to install and configure your database server for a fee of $10 if required, however."

I guess I'll wait till I get it and try doing it myself and if I don't succeed, I'll ask here again.
 
Apache and sql is installed default with a directadmin or cpanel license.
For the security part you might wanna build els with ./build --vps

This is fairly easy for beginners.
 
Have you used MyProHost before?

EDIT: I'm gonna stick with Santrex. Support team answered me telling me this:

"You can install lxadmin yourself by clicking Install LXAdmin in hypervm, it comes with lighttpd, mysql, etc."

So I guess when I login to HyperVM and click Install LXAdmin, it installs everything for me?
