He.net and FDC servers blocking Ecatel?

I am just doing some test checks if a site of mine can be reached with different proxy sites and found out that ips with FDC and HE (linode) can't connect to my Ecatel vps.

Do you guys have similar problems with Ecatel?

Ecatel ranges are blacklisted for spamming and DDoS. Some datacenters have firewalls in place to block everyone who is listed at SpamHaus(you can do the same thing with CSF btw).
 
Yeah they are famous for that.

But what I want to know is would ordinary users be able to connect to Ecatel servers? Do isps also filter Ecatel ips?

Its really no use creating a website which can't be accessed.

Most of ISPs(including mine) use SpamHaus to filter "bad" traffic(read: spam, ddos etc). Spam and DDoS are becoming a big problem in the industry, by the end of next year I believe almost everyone will start blocking SpamHaus listed networks/IP ranges.
 
Ecatel is now more following their own rules xD
They won't allow spam, phishing etc. And soon as we start with IPv6, we all start with a clean list :)
 
If you don't spam, ddos or host malware, why would you use Ecatel in the first place? There are datacenters with stable and redundant network, new and quality hardware, clean IP ranges AND better prices.

Ecatel ranges are not blocked anywhere.
HE and FDC are not blocking anyting in our network.

Hi,

We got only 9 spamhaus listings, which is nothing. We are not even in the top10 of spamhaus and come not even near them.

Our network is not blocked anywhere. We are not blocked by he.net or fdcservers. Please sent me a PM with your ip and we check why you cannot reach both of them.

I can reach both of them perfectly from the Ecatel network.

You have 1859 IP addresses(oh, only? That's nothing you say?) listed at SpamHaus. With less than 1000 servers you host, it's a LOT. You might be able to access HE and FDC from a clean IP, but most of your customers are not able to access it because they are on blacklisted IPs.

While you directly aren't blocked on much places(yet), your blacklisted IPs are. Most of ISPs use SpamHaus and block listed IPs. You, as aserver provider, should have realized that ages ago.

1) we have more than 1000 servers
2) As you can see we only have 1021 ips listed at spamhaus (of the 13568 ips we announce). And these ranges are 50% not in use aswell. The other listings are related to ecatel BGP customers, for example cb3rob. Customers with their OWN network but buying bandwidth from Ecatel. They do not affect ecatels customers at all.

Dont talk garbage here on a public forum, because what you are telling here is Far from the truth. Our ips are not blocked anywhere. Only 1021 ips are listed at spamhaus. THATS ALL.

And that 1021 ips are not listed anywhere except spamhaus SBL. They are also *NOT* listed at the Spamhaus DROPLIST. Read the spamhaus website carefully. Spamhaus got multiple lists and only 1021 ips from ecatel got a SBL listing. Which is NOT used for nullrouting. For nullrouting spamhaus offers the DROP list. And 0 of our ips are listed there. Which means there are NO network providers blocking ecatel ips at all.

And almost none of our customers are on blacklisted ips. Where do you get this nonsense from. Otherwise all our customers are unable to sent e-mails to other companies/websites because the spamhaus SBL list is well used on e-mail traffic.

Your statements are ridiculous and not true.

Well my vps provider already reported it to you guys as far as I know. They already troubleshot the problem on my end and concluded the block is on Ecatel servers.

Most likely your VPS provider is full of BS and have no idea what's causing the problem so they blamed Ecatel xD

i dont know abt fdc but he.net has not blocked ecatel ips , how can i say that ? because i just blocked he.net ip range in my servers firewall, some of their ips were trying to attack our server.

i banned ip range :-

208.86.198.0/24 208.86.196.0/22

and yes these ips belong to HE :)
