Hi guys, my understanding is you don’t encode videos that are smaller in size; however I have some videos that are ~80mb that could use encoding because they are only about 2 mins (120 seconds) long. For a user to be able to watch these videos without buffering they would have to download the video at 80mb/120 seconds (simplified to .66mb/sec); the download speed required to stream these videos is quite high (.66mbps) and I think these videos could benefit from encoding so they can be streamed without buffering.

thinking of the bigger picture, perhaps it would be good to look at the file size and length of each video to determine whether it needs to be encoded. For example a 100mb video that is 1 hour long would not need encoding while a 100mb video that is 30 seconds long would def benefit from encoding.

thanks for your consideration

Thank you so much for taking some of your time to write this detailed explanation. We will add an option on the account settings very soon to encode these small videos as per your request.
