I understand. re-uploading is not easy and takes time, but at least they can generate income for you and GO.if GO closes people get nothing


Of course that is so. But before closing, I think an audit by a security company would be better. And they may find a solution to clean everything up. But of course for that you have to invest money.

No local, recent local backups are infected with those hacks because save of backups are from live site.

Old backups wok but are too old like few months in back.

Now now think about which option to choose. All of them are bad.

There is no lie and this is the truh even if whether you believe it or not.

I don't get it. Files might be infected, but the data isn't. When it comes to the rootkit(s), these things aren't invisible. Why not hire a security expert for probably less that 1 BTC to clean it? Also, if the rootkit fully relies on "phoning home" (meaning it needs commands from a human) you should be able to figure out where it tries to connect to and block it. But it's hard to make suggestions without knowing what the rootkit is doing and why you're under the impression that it's impossible to get rid of.

Going to have to reupload one way or another. Either upload here, where we know them or upload somewhere else.

Doesn't matter, start from scratch either way.

Obviously video data files can't be infected any way, but same obviously they were not able to backup Terabytes of data from multiple servers.
So prepare your old files for reuploading, I believe it's the only possible way to get back in business.

I was lost all videos a few months ago with gounlimited and just 15 days ago start again work with gounlimited and now.. lost 1500 files.
i lost more than 13k files and this is not the first time and Gounlimited was my main player, luckily was using more than one player

A lot of you have said I have been too lenient with setting 72 hours as a time frame. I have amended the deadline to;

My initial questions for GoU:
  • The last time all videos got lost users were promised this wouldn't happen again by offering a free backup solution users could enable. Was there ever such a feature or was it an empty promise to avoid users leaving for competitors?
  • Are you going to pay users who still have a balance?
  • Can you describe the nature of the rootkit. Like what is preventing GoU from removing or blocking it?
  • Do you know who was behind the attack or their motivation to target GoU?
For transparency, I used GoU in one of my projects. From the times I've talked to Bader he seems like a friendly and supportive person. I know he put a lot of effort into GoU. More than most other hosts I have personal experience with anyway. Some others here have accused GoU of various things, such as attacking competitors etc. If someone has proof of this now is the time to share it. Otherwise it's just gossip or comments made in bad faith.

Good questions , they need an answer . Can you prove either way?
If this was retaliation for a attack , why the payment demand?
Can you identify what was installed by its actions? If so, pm someone here and maybe we can help.

@ProStream although you may very well be an employee (support agent), you must answer some of the questions above. You have 24 hours. If you do not provide a reply, you will be permanently banned.

@GO Unlimited has failed to cooperate in any way and answer our questions so as a collective group, we have unanimously decided to ban him. Since @ProStream, as an employee, had no control over the situation he/she will not be held accountable for what happened with GoUnlimited.

The GoUnlimited case has come to a close. Decision above.
