Google servers go down if half internet users ddos it?

Alright it came up in the shoutbox,

if half the world's internet users were to ddos google, would it take it down. Some say yes, some say no.

Lite brought up that facebook, twitter were ddos

Just to let you know that some google sub CDN servers / Sites also suffered an good kick up the ass!

Nope. Actually that kinda happens everyday, a high percentage of users use google every second and that is pretty much like a DDoS, it just proves that they have capable hardware and can't be DDoSed easily.

so more than half internet user access it when they start FF..

Google have various Data centres scattered over the world - I can't even begin to think how they could take out multiple data centres without bombing them.

I highly doubt that you could DDoS it enough to take it down. Like previously mentioned, all the serach queries made daily, would take a normal site down. lol

I read someplace that Google has over half a million servers now in over 80 countries. That's a shit load to take down. It's meant to be structured in a way that's their somehow independent making it practically impossible to take down.


Do you know now that Google have set up their own Utility company now called Google Energy so that even all the oil and gas fields dry up Google will still be running as their converting all their power usage to renewable energies like wind and wave. Not sure who's have power to turn on a computer but at least they'd still be up.

Their covering almost every possible scenario making it practically impossible to go down.
