I don't like it. Mainly because you can't really do anything with it except purely internet related stuff. Could of been a hit, but the direction they went = -.-. And yeh, obviously it's gonna boot super fast since it has nearly nothing to load at all except their browser, that's it. Worth noting is that Google says you MUST use a SSD for it to work. I don't know about you guys but I'd rather keep all my stuff on my pc instead of giving everything, and I mean everything, to Google and see ads everywhere.

i guess its nice for some reasons, but definetly not something id use...

only thing i really would wanna see is the boot time on that..

found it hard to understand the guy at first due to the fresh accent, but got used to it..

"lets see watappen wen wee click the weeedeo" - lol'd hard when he said that..

neway @topic: i think its good, definitely a step forward.. i just dont like the browser interface tbh, theres a reason why an OS and a web browser are two different things, chrome os is a combination of the two which i would not prefer compared to a normal OS.

^ also would like to see the boot time on the real thing lol

Boot time is 4 - 7 seconds on a good netbook with a SSD. But like I said, only a browser gets loaded basically, nothing else can be run, everything is done in the browser and via sites.

My thoughts are that its a pretty pointless OS, Google are just exploring new areas, surprise, suprise.
Any interest people are showing to it now is just initial and only then because its Google releasing it.

You guys are totally mistaking.

You are thinking like tech-savvy people. Since most of us here are webmasters, this OS is "totally" useless to us.

Google is NOT aiming the OS to us, Google is targetting a SPECIFIC group for this.

This is the group of the "stupid" consumer. Who goes to Best Buy, and asks if the "Toshiba Satellite" is better because it works off "Satellites," rather then this "HP "Pavilion"...

Almost all consumers only use PC's for internet, and since google is making new apps in the cloud for other things (docs, pictures, videos). Thats all they need.

This OS is not a full OS in the sense of how we use it, or how business or power users use it.

But for the non-tech people, this will sell. Also they are driver specific, so they will be laptop specific. They know what their doing. In a year or two this totally sell. Look for google to create maybe a full Linux distro 2 years after this one hits the market, one that doesn't use "The Cloud" as its main productivity.

I agree with Golden Falcon.

This would be perfect for netbook use which is mostly used for internet access, I tested ChromeOS (Chromium) on VirtualBox, simple and does the job.

By the way, for the ones who want to test ChromeOS, the login prompt is your gmail account.

Killer "Indians Leads All Google Projects so I think there is no problem in Indian accent but for your information here most of members are Indian.
And we really proud to be an INDIAN"

this looks okay for just someone who wants to go to facebook and check email (which you can do on all other OS)
Honestly i think google wil just be colecting logs with this O, everything being done via internet .not a good idea...No Privacy

edit >>**
this looks just like adding vista on the psp when i used to plays my psp
