When el_jentel was an admin here, he did some thing like, members gave away their sig spots for orgs who work for the community, or some thing like that, as I dont remember well. And those who wanted, could donate.

What do you think we do some thing like? May bring good luck to our forum and maybe some attention to people who really need it out there.

What do you guys have to say about it? It is just a random thought

Not a bad idea but is more of a thing you could do yourself if you wanted, I suppose you don't really need the go ahead.

hey look i made a post!

It's not bad idea at all, but from who you expect the donations? It's a nice touch but..

WJ = UPLOADERS
Uploaders main income = some shitty filehosts, now dead
UPLOADERS = broke

P.S. I'm broke too!

The reason we stopped was because people started fighting over sigs. Even staff did so we decided to disallow it full stop.

You're not actually giving away anything, you're simply promoting (in hope that someone donates) one non-profit organization or more (it's up to you), like el_jentel1 did.

Are you sure that you're not talking about the "WJunction's Charity Movement" ? If so, it's up to the current WJunction owner to decide if he's going to continue with the charity movement or not.

For those who weren't on WJunction before: the original thread that was started by el_jentel1 has been deleted, but its concept was quite simple - users' task was to reply to the thread, and when the thread gets 100 replies, el_jentel1 would donate $100 to some non-profit organization.

I think what is being discussed here is having a link to a non-profit charity in your sig.

I had a "Save the Boobies!" and "Give your GF a Breast Exam" link in my sig on another site for a few years for a Women's Breast cancer site.

The space in your sig is your donation, so it costs you nothing out of pocket.

If that is the case a list of acceptable charities could be compiled and those that want to do it could with the site owner(s), management, and staffs permission and guidance naturally.
