Forum icons instead of status icons?

I want to add a different icon by every forum on my site where the status icons are. How do I replace the status icons with different images? Kind of what inwarez has.

first off change these to the new images you want

/statusicon/user_online.gif
/statusicon/user_offline.gif

if they dont show edit the template

postbit_onlinestatus

to fix the directory of the images and really that should be it
