First website attempt = free hosting?

Here's an interesting question I think. Was your first attempt at a site done on free hosting? Doesn't even have to be a complete website, like did you first start experimenting with websites via free hosting?

For me personally it was through a CSS clan I joined. I was put in charge of the clans website which was hosted @ a free host with a forum at one of those free forum hosts . That's how I rolled into learing HTML/CSS and later on PHP and JS (to later end at desktop programming).

Yep,
I stared on free webhosting. That was few years ago, I only knew how to make a website in MS Frontpage. It was really fun in start, no one in my school knew how to make a site... After that I started using CMS's / and forum scripts on carded/hacked hosts. After that on paid.

Nope, I started with paid hosting, even as a newb I knew you get exactly what you pay for in this life.

I hosted my site on my friends server at Hostgator. But i didn't pay him anything at that time. So you can say i started with free, but after one or two weeks i bought my own host.

When I first came in touch with Forums & HTML/CSS, it must been on the freehost - funpic.de :P
