However, you're right that you cannot keep track which files you have are active or not.

That is how it is supposed to work.
A file host competitor describes it like this - (FileServe works in a similar fashion):
The FTP does not provide you with a listing of current files/folders in your account; It simply provides a space that you can upload files to.
After you upload a file, the file will be moved to the root of your file manager. Once moved to the File Manager, the files will be deleted from your FTP directory.

Seeing you all complaint with ftp upload speed,
however
I envy you guys
I upload with maximum speed of 70kb/s, that's the faster speed I every reach with my only crappy ISP here in my country.
So i have register three different adsl line to make my upload experience faster.
And today, my only ISP is fu*k up again, All the internet is down for the whole country for half a day lol, I envy guy who can upload at 15mb/s lol
however

I'd like to get other people using FS.
I'd like to buy 1 month accounts - using myself as the referrer - and give them away to people I know. It would be up to them to extend the account, but I'd (obviously) be earning my rake. I did this with HF and it worked well for me.
As I understand it though, would I be in danger of tripping some sort of anti-fraud routine and risk getting my own account locked?
Is there a way to do what I want? Or can I do it without any worry of losing my account?

But what about fixing 404 page when people try to get files they got 404 not found even the file is there?!!!

@ ARGHHH: You're upgrading your account as your own referral? E.g.:
ARGHHH1 has ARGHHH2 as referral. ARGHHH1 upgrades ARGHHH2 with a Premium account via Paypal, and then sells it to a randomer?
I wouldn't recommend this. Why not become a reseller instead?

@ all: Want to know if you're still getting 404s. Not talking about absolutely fresh links that you uploaded a second ago, but any other links that you've bumped into that have given you 404.
