Why does my File Manager count different from my Statistical report?

File Manager count: Non-unique download counts.

This includes:
-Downloads from Premiums. They download 10x of the same file it will be listed there.
-Downloads that failed.
-Downloads that attempted to download but failed on the last second
-Downloads that were completed by Free and Premiums.

Stats report: Unique downloads only.

This means:
-Downloads that were counted as successfully downloaded by free users.
-Downloads that were counted as 1 unique successful download by a Premium user per 24 hours.

Just have to say ..

Hi all

I'm MAD X-(

I download like 10GB a week (admit it .. from various IP addresses as I at home don't have static IP and from work change between loading wia WAN and ADSL) ... and I get banned .

And WHY THE H*LL are there NO information regarding this on fileserve.com?!??

I have written using the link on the site and PM'ed RickyFS here ... so hopefully I will get unbanned ... if that for some reason doesn't happen, I expect at least a PM from RickyFS telling me why!!

Kind Regards
UnHappy FS User :'(

  • And now you're putting a limit on daily downloads, without notice. You say this is to block the leeching services, but I doubt that's the real reason. Some logical reasoning. The bigger the files, the more money uploaders get, the more you have to payout. Thus when you limit the number of daily downloads, there will have to be payed out alot less money because you are preventing downloads in the highest payout range. At least be clear about it. Inform your users about the limit. Don't advertise with false information.
sounds like a plausible reason

They're poor cheapskate :sun:

Dear RickyFS,

I cannot understand you are trying to defend this new policy regarding so-called 'leeching services' or heavy downloaders. Especially when I see the banners on your own website.

I ask you to remove "No daily limit on downloads" from your website or you will have serious problems with your premium users. They have the right to ask for a refund or block the payment as you are advertising with false information.

All adjustments to the service you have made lately are not in favour of the user. For example:

  • Making all cookies and sessions rely on IP-address. This means you cannot resume your download when your IP-address changes even if you have a premium account, you will have to sign in again and resume the download. I do not care about the alternatives like the download managers which store your username and password and prevent this. Its the fact that it was possible and it isn't anymore that matters. Why fileserve?
  • Adding reCAPTCHA to the login system. Who was the idiot who thought of this useless change? The reCAPTCHA appeared without reason. (even when you entered the right login information) It also affected the download managers. It seems like you have disabled it (for now, because I can see its still in your source) but again, why fileserve?

This is the straw that breaks the camel's back. I won't be using fileserve anymore, like thousands of other users who already left you for the reasons I mentioned. Bye fileserve. <_<

Really, only problem with that "theory" is uploaders don't get much money from premium members, if a premium member downloads 1000 files from a uploader in a 24 hours period the uploader gets only credited for 1 download.
Basically for making money on fileserve (or any other filehost), premium members are useless.

The theory still holds, less data downloaded means less money to be payed out, premium or not. Premium users can download more data than free users in a shorter period. Why do you think the uploader gets credited just once per 24 hours for a download? Now this measure just doesn't seem to be enough for them. Whether you agree with me or not, it's a fact that less data is being consumed with this daily download limit.

But this isn't even the real problem. The real problem is that Fileserve is telling (future) premium users there is no daily download limit while there is, and any average downloader with a good connection can reach this limit easily.

Ok, so the theory holds because a premium member can download more, whilest only 1 download counts, maybe when i drink more beer this will make sense....
Really this is not the point but still you post this......

Yes, one download per 24 hours counts because premium users were able to download without limits. So again, the reason why only one download per 24 hours counts when premium users download the file is because they can download more, thus more to be payed out by fileserve. I think this measure wasn't enough for Fileserve and to minimize their costs they are now limiting the downloads for premium users. This is just one of the possible reasons for Fileserve to do this. And if it isn't a reason, it's still an advantage.

HELP RICKYFS

@RickyFS

Please unban my account, I have sent you my account details.

I am just one user who has a fast home connection and download various files. As of recently it has been more since a few good stuff has recently been released.

Thanks.

Strange

If it is download limit then I really got screwed because I renewed my account then downloaded 2.8 gig and was banned. Yes I am fast 40mbs. But I really got screwed. And I am no uploader I haven't did that in a couple years I was a big uploader on RS before they started screwing everybody. But not now.

Before the account was renewed (it was dead 2 months) I was downloading a lot. I collect TV series stuff mostly so I do download lots at times. But I have most everything there is so now days I really download very little all at one time.

Doesn't matter to me if it is any kind of limit I won't deal with FS. That is as bad as Easyshare and that stupid limit they have. No matter what the limit is FS will suffer loss of uploaders and customers. And doing it without telling people will make it much worse. Who cares about FS when FSC has just about everything also that is my oppinion. I just would like to get my moneys worth for this renew then I will never deal with FS again.

Premium lifted out of the blue

@RickyFS
I'm having a rather annoying problem.
I've been a Fileserve user for a pretty long time now and about a moth ago I wanted to extend my premium account again for a half year (180 days). So I payed the 34,99€ and it worked fine until a few days ago. It seems I only got 30 days for the price of 180 as the date when I bought it and the day it stopped working match up for exactly 30 days. It's like the premium has been lifted already. I have sent a few emails trying the form on your website and using the address provided by Paypal but I've gotten no response at all. In the second email I provided screenshots of my now Free account and my Paypal transaction. If required I can pm them to you again on here as it seems the email address isn't even being looked at. I'm quite disappointed in how this matter is being handled since I've always been a happy customer.
I hope this can be resolved asap, I really need my account.
Thanks.

no idea about this, I've moved all my earnings to earnings account, but it's still in pending. May I know how long it takes to transfer the earnings to earnings account and why I see that $0.81 in my earnings account? :)
