We owed them some advertising space since they were taken down prematurely (by request), so there you go. Think it will be up for 7 or 14 days, can't remember
As they have a disclaimer on their frontpage, they meet our guidelines and I'm confident that no person under the age of 18 will click through.
Sigh... about 45 failed remote uploads out of 60 ... it's worse than it ever was.
Before, maybe 3-5 might fail (after a long, protracted ...processing... message), now everything seems to fail, and it's totally random too. One minute, a part will fail (for different stated reasons), the next it will be perfectly fine (after laboriously re-adding it).
It's the same for all the hosts I am using, and remoting the same parts that fail for FS to other hosts works fine, so this isn't user error or 3rd party error.
Also, re-adding the parts after they (inevitably) fail is extremely frustrating. You add them, click submit... then nothing. I've seen this mentioned several dozen times by many different users, so it begs the question: what is the problem and when will it be fixed?
I remote uploaded around 50 files from meagshares and all ended up in my files in less than 5 minutes. I also remote uploaded 20 files from megaupload and they eventually ended up in my files. Took 10 minutes.
My rule: if a file is pending for more than 20 minutes, delete it and start the upload again, the second time it should work fine
RickyFS: please i would like to ask, if it is ok that my friend has 2 accounts on fileserve because of unsufficient storage, and used my referall link to both of them .. i just want to avoid some possible trouble so im rather asking
@ follz20: Certainly is an issue with the other host. Not our problem that there seems to be an issue there. There are some hosts that are particularly more stable than others. RS is one of them.
I can tell you that some users have found great success using our Remote. Don't know how many GB they have pushed over, but it isn't just a handful.
I've inquired our tech about it and requested if there can be done anything. We're getting the files just like how you would get them normally.
@ skydragon: Read the question wrong. Yes that is allowed. As long as he didn't refer himself I thought he was sharing your account with him, which would be a violation.
