What does your location matter if you're remote uploading from HF to FS? o.O

You people need to stop abusing the remote uploading capabilities of FS.

^ 2nd line is kind of incorrect. Fileserve offers remote upload so it should work (and fast) simple :p. Not saying they don't try their best, and I realize it's hard to keep up with such enormous growth - but that's unrelated for users, they're safe to assume it works, right?

There is a limit - some people can't even remote upload 10 files. When it's an open boufe, everybody eats a lot and noone eats themselves to death. Here, it's like everybody starves from hunger, as there's not even a single sandwich

Or there's 10 million people all trying to upload one file, so nobody is really abusing. Who knows :p I guess they'll get it fixed the coming weeks anyway. New servers aren't installed in 10 minutes, but their budget seems large enough to get more.

We haven't changed the procedure of the Remote Upload - If it is an issue it doesn't lie on our end. It really isn't our fault nor a possible fix if HF & RS blacklists our IPs to our servers - This mean theyll either completely ban files with an outbound IP to us or just put us on a limited bandwidth. Shame competitors have to do this, but it just deteriorates and demotivates users to use us - I guess it's working? Why even upload to HF first nowadays? Just upload to us first - At least we don't F with you if you want to send your files to HF.

The RU is there because it makes it efficient to move files from one host to another. When the competition doesn't want the files to leave their own host, you see that trouble of trying to establish a monopoly (in real terms, oligopoly) to keep users within a range. Time to break free from them... That's my suggestion OR use the Rapidleech plugin.

@ MVS: We receive an insane amounts of DMCA requests. If/when we take them down and we need to email for every taken down file, I think the email providers will soon be tired of us and blacklists us (Y! loves to do this fyi). We could send summaries of takedowns, but it isn't something we have developed. I guess, we could put that in our list of things to do. Noted it btw ;)

About the emails
Storage.to sent out a daily mail to every user for all their removed files (if any files were removed). Sometimes I got them twice a day though, but as you said, a summary of all deleted files. Imo not neccesary for fileserve as so far less than 8% of my files got deleted.

I am having a problem regarding deletion of my files...

My files have been deleted and i have deleted also some but the storage is same i.e. it is not decreasing and it should decrease...

Can u help me with it???

Got suggestion:

It would be better if the files are arranged per days as HF. Its difficult to go to the files starting with w,....... its irritating especially while renaming files.

Also while renaming, after renaming a file and click submit. It pops out a message saying "file renamed successfully" then we have to click OK. I think this confirmation window is not necessary.

An email with summary of deleted files will be good...coz its not possible to track FS's live links easily until we click and check...

Just click on the upload column title and it sorts them all on date.

Regarding removed I am on 10%, which I thought was high. But as I see 35% I feel lucky. Probably my percentage is so low because most of the files are porn and porn providers do seem not be willing to go through the DMCA process.

@ axxo786: The storage changed for a lot of people. We had a bug in the storage that sometimes showed more storage used than what was "reality" - This has now changed. It may seem to you we have deleted some files, but we haven't. Also did you check your DMCA removed files tab?

@ n4pst3r: In the works. Our File Manager will NOT go back to root in the future when renaming a file. That was step 1. Step 2 is to implement multiple renames of files.

Agreed on the email feature. We will have to implement that too. We already have a link checker available "http://fileserve.com/link-checker.php" - I believe JDownloader had this implemented into their script.
