Well, to start my ISP throttles my speeds if I go over 10GB of bandwidth so my question is:

Will a VPN bypass my bandwidth limit? While using a VPN will it still use my bandwidth?

No, it won't help you. You are still receiving your traffic through your ISP.

VPN serves the purpose of seeing the site you couldn't, because your ISP blacklisted it. Or, to hide your identity online. Kinda.

You won't get any speed or bandwidth advantages, only disadvantages.

basicaly whtever u do will go throw ur net .. i mean everything u are doing is geting buffered for u in one way...

so ur bw is still consumed

Damn, any ways to bypass a bandwidth limit? :(( cause 10GB is not much at all .. like, I can't even play xbox ffs, and when I do go over I get throttled back to 0.11mbps that's like 100 times slower.

Yes it will, but it depends on the type of connection: udp, tcp, icmp, etc. and the port u will be using if it's blocked by ur ISP.

Cannot change ISP's, they have a monopoly in place and im on a contract. There is no better plan, I pay for unlimited bandwidth - 70$ a month and I go over my limit almost every month.

Unlimited bandwidth is not a problem, ask them why are they throttling the speed for 70$...wow, even here, for 70$, you can get 40mbit flat...damn

yes you can with this:http://www.smarthide.com/overview/
i had use this becouse my ISP limit my BW,and works.

How can that possibly do the trick of saving bandwidth for you???

I have called tech support, spoke with a manager, and spoke with the presidents office and they all said the same thing "We throttle our users who exceed the limit to ensure quality service to all of our customers"

Quality service for everyone who isn't throttled

At peak times my 16Mbit connection is reduced to 4Mbit or less. However, when I use a VPN speeds during these hours are 8Mbit or higher.

You need your ISP for your connection, but you might try to circumvent the throttle with a VPN.
