Yeh, it`s slow while pinging so FF need to wait for it to get data & then continue the remaining.

It is located high in page, I mean it hangs up the page for a sec from where it is.

I really hate it. :(
Is that same with you guys too >?

Check in this topic and the facebook code is <fb:like href=""

Shouldnt it be the topic URL, so people can like there topics not just the index page?

The point of the like button is it is on each page,

Say there is one on the home page

There is also one on this page

the reason for the button is when you click it it makes an out put feed to your facebook as so

now it would be better if it some what shown the topic of the thread you liked on your facebook profile imo

i really dont think the 'Like' button is necessary on the index with the social media buttons in every thread now anyway really

I think it should be just only like button.
It counts the total click & for that connects to FB.

But cant you make it just simple button that doesnt need to connect to FB & still can do the same work except that like count ?

Well so far I am quite happy with the results being 80 people liking the site etc. In regards to the slow load times I'll look into a solution but from what I can tell it's the one most sites use... Positioning is difficult but that's the only bare/open space I could think of.

I might have a fix in mind.

We are currently using CGI PHP and lighttpd. In the coming weeks we may be making some changes to improve site performance. They are in the works.

The like button isnt for liking a thread its for liking the website as a whole.

Add the code to the bottom of the footer and have the CSS repostion it for better speed on loading the page.

I see no slow right now though but I have good internet and live in a 1st world country.
