Erase text from an Image using Photoshop

Hi,

I am a newbie to Photoshop and I am trying erase some text from an image. I used the eraser but it wipes the background as well.

Is there a way I can get the text off keeping the background intact ?

Depends on the image.
Sometimes it takes a few clicks with a certain tool... Sometimes it's a right pain !!

Show us the image, and we'll be able to guide you further.

There are various ways of removing text. It's just a case of using the best method for YOU.

I'll tell you now... using the eraser is not the correct method.

Google "Content Aware" but has Ashley has stated, showing us the picture will help more.

When using content aware you need to make sure that first off the layer is locked, additionally this does not always work, you are sometimes better off copying a pattern from some were else in the image that will fit in and layer it over then blend it.
