"I do customize my OS and the performance is more important to me"

I use Windows XP. I tweak it to its limits, removing all the random windows bullshit that i really don't need.. No stupid effects that slow down performance, no visual theme etc.. Basically, my PC right now is consuming 300MB's of RAM. :)

After 2 replies i found that i didn't even tell you what i prefer
Who dumber than me

i customize my OS and i prefer performance ;)

i keep it simple. dont really customize anything. i like the default windows 7 look. but ill make some custom shortcuts and do some tweaking. but its mainly for performance.

In XP there was a massive point to customise since there was/is so many things that are just stupid. Windows 7 on the other hand I see no reason to do so, any machine that can run it properly will have 3GB of RAM at least (I have 12GB) so why bother?

JGM.

I don't do it myself & suggest not to do so either. Just don't overload machine with craps.

Well of course if you really want to keep yourself busy by tweaking the OS then fixing the problems caused & then re-tweaking it & then repeat the processes until the next fresh installation, then have fun. :)

I customise it in the way that I right click the taskbar, go to properties and selected "Never combine"

I just change the settings, never try to mod anything!

I do customize it a few times just to make the appearance better.

Ooops, I think I have offended you a bit. Sorry if I did. I thought it was an open poll asking our opinions about the query!

So, sorry about it if I have said it in a wrong tone.

No not at all i think i am the one who give the wrong impression
i was just telling you that i already know how to do that and i made this poll to get your exp about customizing your own OS not to learn if that good or bad thing and i definitely didn't get offended
hope that i give a clear picture about what i mean

customized OS are really overrated...most of the time it's outdated programs and it can screw up your PC...lol...i've learned from experience...

I do customize my OS for both the performance and the appearance
bcz i dont want to see one theme.
thirdparty software increase performance of pc which i like very much

I was always having trouble with customizing since it influenced my PC's performance, so I don't put any customization since many years back.
