gaming communities are getting dead these days due to facebook groups. even you can see the rank of all the forums , they are started to falling down due to social network growth.

mature people still use forum since they see like minded peoples over there with mature knowledge.

Yes, it is true there are some new apps like Discord and Garena that bring people closer than on forums.

I think a lot of people like games, but the gaming community as a whole I believe to be very fickle. I mean that many gamers, myself included, will choose a certain game--begin play and find out that the game is not to there liking. The game might be too hard, too easy or a newer more popular game comes out and they leave the 1st game without finishing it to go play the newer one. Gamers like anyone else want to surround themselves with people that are of the like mind and that is one reason why someone might join the gaming community or a gaming forum.

Many like the gaming communities. I do agree that discord is good for those that are gamers. I have many gamer friends that have turned to discord.
