All of us have important data, which may be as critical as a company's financial records stored in a spreadsheet, or the monthly sales report of a clerk, or a history report by a 5th grader.

Google Docs
Google Docs has an inbuilt document editing application. Not only can you make new documents and edit old ones - both from Microsoft Word and Open Office,*but you can store them online, forever, using Google's very own servers. You can even share your documents with your contact list, or make them public for*the world to view and edit (appropriate*permissions are to be issued). Google uses a SSL encrypted connection while creating and viewing documents, so your data is pretty much safe forever. Not only Google Docs supports documents but, spreadsheets, drawings, forms and presentations as well!
