I personally like COD (ever since World at War), but looking at the current Battlefield trailers ... I think they might have a good chance to grab some of the COD fan base and turn them to Battlefield.

battlefield 3 is a fake made out of Call of Duty. look at older battlefields... the crosshair and other gameplay style was totally different. in bf3 it's like in cod lol.

+ cod has better support for multiplayer anyways.

I'm not expecting anything from COD yet.

Battlefield hands down. BF2 was (and is) best multiplayer FPS ever, so if they stick to it BF3 will be phenomenal, easily surpassing CoD in terms of quality. Obviously not in terms of sales.

We'll see about singleplayer. BF3 will be first Battlefield with a singleplayer campaign (Bad Company series was a spinoff for consoles, so it doesn't count). I wouldn't be surprised if it was better than Rambo CoD campaign (except for sniper mission in CoD4 that was awesome).

In terms of multiplayer I agree. But many people prefer going solo without any teamwork, for those it's better if they stick to CoD
