We all shoot vacation videos, but most of us choose to keep them to ourselves — or, at worst, share them with our Facebook friends. Bob Parsons, CEO of the Internet-hosting firm GoDaddy.com, which you know from its lame Super Bowl ads and absolutely nothing else — likes bigger exposure. Parsons recently posted a video of his trip to Zimbabwe, where he shot an elephant.

Comments: I loathe to be on the same side as PETA, but this video repulses me. Probably the thinly veiled promotional aspects with the GoDaddy hats that were circulated. Then add music to the clip. This was done for promotion and little to do with conservation. Bob, return to your lame SuperBowl ads and leave the elephants alone.

The only time I will ever again buy a GoDaddy domain is when it is priced at a loss and then transfer the hell in 60days.

Ps: Chose this board since it was "web" related rather than the General board.

they were killing the crops. he saved the crops and fed a village. the man is a hero if anything. stepped in and took charge of the situation.

Well i dont see an issue as he said with helping the people there by destroying a problem Elephant really. And its not like it jsut laid to rot in the sun, the people there ate anything edible from the animal, which also i dont have an issue with. What i do have an issue with is his blatent advertising campagn giving everyone around those bright orange hats saying GoDaddy on them, and making sure there were closeups in the filming, that makes me wonder what his real motives were in this

NameCheap already take an action: :P

"Hi ...,

It's not often that we would disagree publicly with a competitor, but we at Namecheap are very disturbed by this video of a competitor killing an elephant for sport. Check out the ABC News Report (Warning: Very Graphic!)

We've decided to throw our support behind our Elephant friends by offering domain transfers at a price where we actually lose money.

Show your protest by saying BYEBYEGD again and transfer your domains to Namecheap for $4.99 for the next 24 hours through 11:59pm EST on 3/31/11 (limit 10 per user, valid for all com/net/org domains).

On top of that, we'll donate $1 for each transfer to Save The Elephants at http://www.savetheelephants.org/

Use coupon code BYEBYEGD and let's help the Elephants together!

Regards,
Team Namecheap "

Video is deleted, but who cares if the animal died quickly. If he killed it without a reason I'd say, he's a redneck. But if it's really true that he killed it so that people could eat it, guy is good.

Like iMage said.. Everything fine, except the fact that he edited the video and added an ACDC tune when the elephant was being eaten and the fact that he gave everybody those stupid caps!

Do you think namecheap gives two shits about an elephant? How are they any better? They're just trying to get customers off this

First of all, you don't shoot a elephant, secondly the video tries to make it entertaining for us to see how the poor civilians fight for just a small piece of the Elephant meat.
And all of this just to promote his company?

Insane, we should all boycott Go Daddy Inc.
