Stay away from Ultimatehostings, they are liars, worst wannabe host who sale bad vps nodes and will run your website to the ground in a matter on four weeks.
I bought a vps from them a month ago, it took about a week getting my website transfered and setup from a shared hosting which never suspended my account ever, the only reason I moved to vps was because of storage issue. Everything seem to be working fine until 2 weeks ago, they suspended my vps without a single email, causing my website which get 4-5k daily page view to be offline for about 6hrs, when I found out on my own, I emailed their support, and they lied my website was draging down their servers node. They however turned it back on after that email
A few days after I renewed with them for another month, my vps/website went offline again without a single email, this is supposed to be a fully manged vps hosting so the cailm.
I emailed them to ask whats is going on as the downtime is getting out of hand, after a few hrs I got a reply from them

I'm sorry to say that our node is having hardware issues and we've decided to witch providers, we are deploying a new node and will move your VPS to the same, we will also credit your next invoice with 50% discount.

Huh huh, isnt this the same node they cailm was the reason why my vps was suspended just a few days ago?. Then about 2hrs later they sent this email

I then contacted their support again because the downtime is taking too long,the ignored that email for about 8hrs and then replied.

Okay no problem, seems my vps/website is going to be online soon after 3 days downtime. I wasited and a full day passed, vps is still offline, I emailed them again, there reply

We are not purposely doing this, we can provide you a brand new VPS but at this moment we are just waiting to get all the data back from the DC, the DC are not assisting as expected.

Did yall catch that lie? Didn’t they already say they were already generating a backup just a few day ago? Now iam worried, very very worried, I emailed them again asking them if they are saying they don’t have access to my files? Because I thought I was dreaming, their reply

As of now we do not have access to the data as the DC is holding it, we are trying our level best to get it back. Also we're not scammers the post that you see on HD that client has been refunded already. People have a habbit of doing this without actually having some patience.

We appreciate you to be patient while we sort this out. If you want we can just go ahead and deploy a new VPS for you.

We are not scamers we are doing everything we can to get the data back, we aren't changing reasons, our DC has taken the node down due to some abusive incidents and they are not properly assisting us, so we are trying to get the data back in every possible way.

So from their cailm of hardware issues to now abusive incidents? BUSTED! I just want my files back and since they said their DC isnt helping, I emailed their DC and got a reply 10mins later and here is the DC reply


Your reseller has been provided with a URL in order to retrieve the data. This information was provided to him just a few days ago. If you have any further questions, I highly suggest you personally contact your reseller directly for more details.

Now I can clearly see these guys are scammers, there is no mention of the downtime in their servers downtime area, so I forwarded him the DC email and 20 mins later he replied

Yes they provided a URL but it's of use since it only allows to download one file at a time and nothing else, can you imaging how many files exist? We are trying to get proper access so that we can download all the data and not download one file at a time.

We understand how you feel however calling us scamers and liars isn't going to help as we are doing everything in our possession to get your data back. Also we aren't hiding anything from you we have explained you that the DC is holding the data and is not providing us a viable option to download it, they just provided us a URL using which we can download one file at a time, so this is not good as compared to the hundreds and thousands of files every server has including yours.

You might think that we do not care about our clients when it's not the case as we're really striving hard to get the data back.

So these guys went from lying about their DC holding the files to they did give them url to download the files in a matter of 1hr?. These guys have basically killed a website that had over 5k daily page view. My website has been offline since last Tuesday and remains off . I plan to expose these guys and warn other innocent customers before they get scammed by these guys, I also plan to report them to paypal, BBB. Pls does anyone here know what more to do to put these liars out off business and get back my files please share. Thanks

I think you got busted red handed the dc provided you a link where to get the data but you claim the dc isn't giving any help when they did.

He didn't break the.rules he said beware its like a warning not an actual claim learn how to read
 
Iam just trying to warn people, if i broke any rules let me know and i will fix asap, but everything in the post is correct, my website has been down over a week now and they are lying about my files :(

Yes they did provide us a URL however it would make no sense at all where you are only allowed to download a single file at a time. we explained this to the DC we even sent screen-shots but they don't seem to accept or understand the problem.

A hosting provider can't help it if something goes wrong at a data center, if they can't download all their files at once and have to download each file individually, then of course they're going to speak to the data center about fixing this so they can do it in a much quicker manner.

They were also willing to give you a discount on your next month of hosting and provide you with a different VPS (although it has no files which can be an inconvenience, but if you are left with no other alternatives, it is better than nothing)

A hardware failure can be caused from abuse so that isn't a lie.

Please update this thread in a couple of days with the outcome of what is happening.

There's no way we can provide anyone with that URL as;

1) The URL contains displays the data which is on the host node.
2) The data is not complete

This is the only reason we are trying to work things out with our DC.

Thanks for the reply mate, Its not a hardware issue, their DC kicked them out for abuse, hardware issues you fix or move to another node lol As for the offer, what do i need 50% off on next month bill for, when i dont have a website nor will i have any vistors since they already have killed my website, no mate, i told them i want out, i need my files which they are holding hostage :(

I think SP32 is right ,REMEMBER that hosting provider cant help if something goes wrong with the data center.

Not a problem, that i know,
but why keep lying about it since one week while running my website to the ground?
Why isnt there any update on the customers area that they are having server issues?
Why lie until i contacted the DC to change his tales?
Why not keep your customers backup if you are a host that care about your customers knowing that you are having issues with ur Dc?:(

We are not telling lies, we did inform everyone associated with the node by sending a mass email via our helpdesk. First we thought that the DC would help, infact that is not the case, and remember one thing we don't have any use nor intend to keep you data with us, if we had your data we would have returned it to you in the first place.

We are doing everything and requested every possible option from our DC to get the data back. Unlike you there are other clients but they do understand what we're going though and trying to do.
 
shit happens, let that be dc crap support or hardware failure, nobody wants that to happen. hosts will have regular backups but as a webmaster, it is also your responsibility to make regular backups of your site in case something like this happens.
 
Ofcourse i would have made a backup, but no time as i was too busy uploading files i couldnt on a shared hosting, 220gb, i have only been with them one month but just 3 weeks of hosting:(
Where is his backups if he is a serious host?

Here is an update for everyone, It's been past 12 days since the vps and my website went down, i still dont have my files nor my refund back from them, i have emailed them a few days ago still asking for my files and refund, they have ignored my emails. I have finally filled a paypal dispute today and i still want my files back :(

IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 WEEKS NOW THAT THIS GUYS DC KICKED HIM OUT, AFTER ALL THEIR LIES AND DELAY I STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY FILES(WEBSITE) AND MONEY BACK, I HAVE FILLED A PAYPAL DISPUTE AND THEY LIED TO PAYPAL WHICH RULED ON THEIR BEHALF, FOR THAT I PLAN TO FILE A CHARGEBACK. THIS IS TOTAL FRUD AND RIPOFF! I HAVE SENT THEM ALOT OF EMAILS OVER THE PAST 5 DAYS FOR MY FILES and MONEY, THE HAVE TOTALLY IGNORED MY EMAILS. THIS GUY IS THE WORST EVER, NO GOOD HOST!

my VPS is down for more than 24 hrs now and they are ignoring my request for the backup of my db
I feel your pain, mine has been down for more than 2 weeks now, they still have not given me back my data nor a refund. I waited 8 days for my files to get my site back online, when i couldnt get it back i had to use an old outdated backup from last yr to get my site back online. The killed my website which had over 5k daily page view and growing, i also lost my 2 google site ranks, these guys need to be stopped ASAP. Iam still waiting for my data/files to update my site :(
 
If they "lied" to PayPal to win the dispute, you cant do another chargeback.

Also, if I read it correct, you have 220gb worth of files? It's not that hard to back up btw, you can just run a cron job and back up to hosts such as mediafire and be safe. Every host has such problems.

I am pretty sure by now you know you are not going to get your data back so stop crying, find a new host and move on (that's if you don't wish to take their discount).

You make no sense, no need to reply you anyway.
FYI chargeback is through my credit card company not paypal dispute which never contacted me to tell me what the seller wrote to them, i didnt get the service i paid for, its that simple SMH
