Best FTP & backup script to use??

FTP:

So yeah CuteFTP PRO is starting to annoy me now, so i was wondering what other FTP programes which are as good or even better than it.

Imorting a backup:

I've always used bigdump, is their another one? Because it sometimes fails to import all the database from time to time.

Best way and fastest way to import a db is via ssh execute the command below to do so

mysql -u username -p dbname < /home/username/path-to-file.sql

You can ask your hosting provider to do that for you

CuteFTP ftw. i like the ability to pause downloads. I also like the part where if i accidently close the main ftp, it keeps one running so my uploads / downloads dont stop.
i use to use FileZilla though.
Also sometime si use net2ftp lol.

You could look into mysqlimport too, quite useful tool for importing text-based dumps.

Filezilla is the best FTP program to use. For backups just use SSH.
