Well there is no BEST antivirus as no software will give you complete protection, one would have a good firwall while another a good anitivirus.

besides the old school signature based detection is really overrated, Behaviour blockers and HIPS programs are the future, so its always better to run such a product e.g Comodo D+, Online Armor etc
