As of my knowledge and experience i prefer avast anti virus which suitable for my work. So i suggest you to use it.

Avast is the best antivirus of 2016.

ESET, Kaspersky, AVG, and Avira are the top regarding catching viruses.
Bitdefender has some issues with power users, in my case, it was very hard or impossible to disable some features.
I stick to ESET; it's very lightweight and the cost of it is quite cheap.

Free: AVG or Avira are excellent choices.
