Hey guys,

I'm getting ready to build my next setup and I was looking at the new AMD bulldozer, do you guys think it will be as good as AMD is saying it will be?
Will it actually give AMD a larger market share? Will the bulldozer even compare to Sandybridge?

Compare to Sandy Bridge? Yes.
Compare to Ivy Bridge? No.

Intel will never die, AMD has usually been a step behind with the exception of a few releases.

^ That's amazing, but before people start comparing Sandy Bridge i7's to Bulldozer, they should note that Ivy Bridge is around the corner.

Intel has made a good series of CPU's with the Sandy Bridge, and the upcoming Ivy Bridge. It is very difficult to compete with such good series, especially if a company like AMD, which don't have very great budgets for R&D.

But AMD made a step in the right way, and the processors are going to be as powerful as the Sandy Bridges, but for a way better price. But this serie can't compete with the Ivy I think.

They aim for 200-250$ CPU segment, not for the fastest processor in the world. They did it with Phenom II, offering faster CPU for the same price range, and that is what counts...

It won't be an intel 'killer' lol, it will be competitive, not out of the game...

no.Intel is the world's best leading processors makers fr a decade or so lol.Amd has been good but not matched up to intel's level

AMD still leading at inovation intel just copy paste what AMD doing
last time ago AMD Release AMD 64bit 60nm and intel duplicate what AMD doing with the diffrent before have Processor with 90nm first release by AMD with 60nm and intel follow

go go go AMD

I think Bulldozer is just opening the gateway to a huge new market, that being APUs.

Once Trinity comes out, which is based essentially on the Bulldozer Modules it's going to be a huge market gain for AMD.

If Trinity can prove its battery life + power, Apple is sure to jump on it and next thing you know, APUs will be in every Apple product instead of Intel.

Just my thoughts,

Too anyone saying AMD sucks grow up man, there a great budget cpu, I myself used one in my htpc just to try it out and it was perfect for the job, though I mainly am a intel man and have only ever overclocked intel cpu's I haven't had the chance to try overclocking AMD. I do know one thing, It's awesome buying a dual core AMD and unlocking it to a quad ;)
