I had sent a mail to RS.COM regarding the subject "Rapidshare Shares Uploader Info with Rights Holders"

I got reply from RS...

Check out the mail below....

Hi,

I found this article in a site. I wonder is this true or not.
If its true then it gonna be bad for uploaders.

A number of conclusions are going on based on this article. Most of them decided to say Bye bye to Rapidshare.

I myself own three accounts. I have to decide whether i can extend it or not. Hope i will get a reply.

According to paragraph 101 of German Copyright Act, if a claim for disclosure
is ordered, we are required to publish a users IP address, provided we have
the IP address on record. The civil rights claim for disclosure is
independent of the servers location, but on the adaptability of German
legislation. For the most part this is a given, if a site is accessed from
within Germany.

Yup.
All uploaders should say bye bye bye to RS.
and i guess katz should also change their preference from RS.

P.S. Better Katz start its own filehost :)
 
I think megaupload is a good host to change to as many people already have premium accounts and also contains many of the same features as RS. Just thought I should let people know. :D
 
@Echo,

Moving to some other File Hosting service will be a good option.
If katz initiates it, then i am sure that RS will loose atleast 10-20% of traffic per day.

good work man, thank you for providing this information.
And ive said it once and ill say it again.
MegaShares link card are sooooo good.
megashares might have limits for free users, but really.. who cares?
buy a month link card fot only 10 USD no need to split archives unless its masssive ISO.
but really..
IMHO MegaShares is better.
Although RS is also good and you get points n extend what not. but i really only go with RS due to being everything being on it.
just recently with all this bullshit about uploading.com and other shitty ones which i cant even download ANYTHING without paying, it makes me want something else.
