Posting on forums to gain backlinks is a very old SEO method which Google has known about for years. This method no longer works as well as it used to, actually it would be bad for your website since it would be considered as link spam.

It may help to increase pagerank but will not do your website any good on search engines (especially Google).

A great list though but after checking some random links, some of them seems not existing anymore.
