Why on earth would you make this recommendation...He needs to keep the memory matched as much as possible and there is no difference which slot the "faster" RAM is placed, none what so ever.
Are you running out of RAM when using your PC?
Not really, the "faster" RAM will just be down-clocked by the motherboard to match the other RAM to avoid issues. If he is running out of usable RAM on a regular basis he is FAR better off using mismatched RAM then using HDD page file...way better...

Yes, RDP is built into all Windows versions from XP/2003 forward.
Not all (many do not) VPS providers support windows and as such before you buy a VPS you want to make sure its supported and if there is any additional fee for the windows license.

The biggest thing I had an issue with is getting MAC OSX unlocked inside VMWare workstation, but once that is done it is pretty much mount the OSX .iso and go.
Like other have said, you are going to have a tough go at it with an AMD CPU (more so the AMD chipsets than the CPU itself) as OSX has no support for anything other than Intel and the old G series CPU's.
Have you considered install VMWare Workstation and then install a OSX virtual machine...
