If you killed someone by mistake what would you do?

I'd leave him in the woods, go buy some petrol, return to the scene and find that he is MISSING!! THEN SHIT MY PANTS LMAO !!

Nah, I think I would drench him in some sort of acid and then set him on fire with some sort of highly flammable fuel, surely burning the victim alone would get rid of most if not all the evidence.
Failing that.... hire a boat, get something really heavy - preferably made of steel or something that wouldn't corrode, tie him to it securely, and drop him into the sea miles and miles away from the shore at night. The cost of hiring a boat would be pennies compared to a lifetime in prison.

In all honesty... I haven't got a clue what I'd do!!

Shoot yourself and then play dead :D (Some kid of drug to lower your pulse) But make sure you are still "alive" when the cops come. "My buddy there got attacked and I got shot when i was helping him defend himself" In the eyes of the law you gave a dying declaration and they are admissible in court. (Same with a girl's diary)

Then all that's left is start a new life based on a new id :)

Paraffin test?
Basically, you'd have to shoot yourself with some gloves, some shirt you'll dump later, you'd have to change your shirt, dump gloves somewhere... And gun of course. Too much job. Paraffin test would show that you shot yourself. And there are bunch of tests that would show you shot yourself, e.g. angle from which you shot yourself.

So test's could tell if you shot your self? I'm guessing they measure how deep the bullet traveled in your body and try to figure out at what distance does that bullet penetrate that deep?
 
well you could mount a gun from a tree and use remote to shoot yourself then destroy it long with the tree with c4.

If that fails. id in your house and threaten to set off your nuke.

It depends where you shoot yourself (if it's close range, a lot of powder will stay around the wound, and there's no way that attacker could come so close unless you were tied or something.). But really, there's no way to shoot yourself and to act like someone shot you. You'd have to change clothes, dump that stuff I mentioned in the post above, you'd have to stop bleeding when you do that, they would ask you the exact time when it happened, pathologist would see estimated time of your friend's death. They would ask why didn't you call the police when it happened.

I know that I wouldn't even try to do it, it's just not worth it.

I would put his body in a container of hydroiodic acid then once it had deteriorated, I would freeze the remaining gunk, if possible, and start a lemonade stand with it, claiming it to be flavoured ice.
