Only one reason - the MPAA lawsuit.

According to DMCA, you have to terminate the accounts of users who may repeatedly infringe the copyrights and they are just doing that to save their ass in the court.

Did you check their FAQ page recently? They removed the "tips to raise your rank to platinum" because this is something that will likely play a big role in the lawsuit.
