Which forum software is better for a warez site

[I am Lost]

I am going to make a warez site where I will link to only warez files.

I don't want to use so much resources of server.

I have 3 option
vBulletin
phpBB
myBB

I don't like IPB.

I know for a fact that VBulletin is much heavier when running in a high traffic atmosphere.

Don't know much about myBB.

If you're looking for the lightest on server resources then I would personally say go with phpBB.

vBulletin & IPB will ban you if they figured out you are warez site but PHPBB is better and it is free source and fit to large databases when your forum grow up.

Never tried myBB.

I have used vBulletin. And my frieind is expert in customizing vB.

I used phpBB2 last year, so i have good experience of it.
myBB is good too but they release lot of versions and stable version is not available now.


Last year i used IPB first time and I was editing database then lost it with just one mistake.

I think phpBB is will be good for me this time.

I've never seen the backend of MyBB, but the fascia looks a lot like vBulletin.

Regarding the load..
phpBB2 doesn't have a caching system (to be honest, I don't know about phpBB3, I believe it does though?) -
vBulletin does.

With 100 users online, phpBB2 will have a better performance ratio than vBulletin, yet with 500 users online, vBulletin will dominate over phpBB.
Depends how well you tweak your site

Regarding the "skill" required..
If you're looking at running phpBB2/phpBB3, look out for a lot of customization work.
If you're new to forum software, I'd recommend vBulletin, easy plugin system.


I like vBulletin.. but I'm eager to try out phpBB3. :P

phpBB's dealing with System Resources has dramatically improved since version 2.0

phpBB is very light and can be modded through the wazoo!

It is also not only FREE, but Open Source!!

Never tried myBB.

vBulletin won ban you lol. You just cant enter your board in BOTM competition they have.

Also myBB is basically a free version os vBulletin (the last time I used it anyway). It has less features then vBulletin obviously but I prefer myBB than phpBB.

All webmasters have different opinions so try it out yourself as they are both free. Even try a nulled vBulletin to see if you like it better than myBB and phpBB. If you like the nulled vB then purchase it
