Whats this in Paypal?

I am not sure if its right or not.
But when a member of wjunction was sending me money through paypal for adspot.
He got this error:

We're sorry. We're not able to complete personal payments to account holders in India at this time.

Here' the screenshot:

But when he tried to use the donate button on my site (dl4everything.com), it succeeded.

Any of you knows about this?

Hey,

Looks like the donate button, didn't go through as a personal payment. It was the option picked when sending the payment manually.

But does that mean it will never allow it now.
I think it used to allow it.

You need to send the amount as service or goods. Else it won't accept for an Indian Paypal account.

PayPal has disallowed Indian users to send funds stated as personal (aka as "Send as gift"). This happened a while back. Can any of you guess why? [/s]

However, note that you can't open a dispute for a service. Only tangible things are elegible for a dispute.

That means if sbdy is scammed with a fake hosting service, for example , paypal will do nothing about it.

People must not think that paypal will always solve everything.

You can't send gifts to people in India, for some reason.
I've had that problem for a while.
Not sure if there are similar issues for people in other countries though.

This error only occurs when the sender selects GIFT as the payment option.

Send as a service and it should be ok.
