Doesn't looks like there would be a new outcome or idea through this thread...
Just need to wait for the future I guess...
Waiting for 2012 to come soon....
You've got a good point; but rememberThere can't be any idea, cause it's just a fact asian countries, per 1000 downloads, buy less premium accounts, so the filehost earns less thus pays less. The solution is to get an average $40k salary like in the us![]()
Wait. So you'd rather get 1 premium sale for every 5000 downloads compared to 1 premium sale for every 1000 downloads with USA & Western traffic? Why is that? Lucky you don't run a business
You can only get 1 premium/5000 dls because you don't know how to sell. Remember, what makes you that 1 premium/1000 dls in the west may not work in asia at all. I am lucky that many dudes like you don't know how to sell.
I don't start one because I don't know how to do it. Besides, there are many much more profitable business than file hosting. :D
You've got a good point; but remember
1) The middle classes in Asia are growing faster than anywhere in the World.
2) Big companies are global. Coca-Cola, Pizza Hut etc.. etc... are in India and everywhere else.
3) Perhaps the solution is for a file host to put together a direct sales team and sell directly to these companies in India etc..., thereby getting much more directly than through ad networks. If they're earning more from those countries they can then pay higher rates. I think Megashare is already beginning to do this with the start of their megadeals page
Dude, Asia is a huge continent with diverse languages, cultures, religions, social environment, economies, etc. Don't lump all Asian countries into one entity when doing analysis. You will end up with the wrong conclusion. You should target each individual country. My traffic is mostly east Asian, and I can tell you I play a part in convincing Hotfile to pay for some of the east Asian countries. Again, you must know how to sell. In order to do that, you must understand the people, their culture, what they need, what do they look for in a product/service, what influences their decision making. Having high average income is not everything. Have you ever sell to Japanese or Korean? Try using your strategies that you sell to the North American and European, you will end up with the conclusion that "these people are too poor to afford your goods / They are too hard to convert" :D. There are many companies (online) making loads of money in the east Asian market (low income countries like China included). One common thing they have: they don't save on the spending to learn and understand the local market. Small timers like file hosts either don't have that resource or are just satisfied with what they have now and don't bother to look beyond their own boundaries to grow further. So they are stuck in a market which will get saturated soon.
I just meant overall in asian countries the earnings are much less so it would result in less premium account sells, cause $9 is more to them than to western countries.
The reason many business succceed in China or wherever is cause on non-filehost sites the same visitor count there costs $10 instead of $1000 at filehosts. What's there to learn about the China market? Just like you don't see D&G's online shop majorly profiting from China, more the cheap counterfeit sites (adjusted to their price class). So perhaps someone should create a filehost with crappy limits (crappier than regular sites - as it's a cheap copy) and sell premiums for $2.
Stuck on premium accounts? Please tell me how RS, HF, and FS make their money
Dude, there are local hosting service selling at much higher price than HF FS or whatnot in China, and they make tons of money. Have you wonder why? Yea right, what's there to learn about the China market? There's nothing to learn other than the stereotype that we hear everyday. Learning is for folks like amazon, ebay, big-g, y! and people who want to make money in growing markets. Not for the joes.
Thats what I told many times in this thread...
All are walking on the same road with just one path made by someone in the past...
Why there are no new ideas...??
I only see that the rates being changed like filesonic started paying $30 for 1000 and then duckload came saying they will pay $45 per 1000...
Is that called a change...
What the hell???
I can tell you why. They make a profit cause they don't waste $1000 a day on bandwidth to the ones that don't buy accounts.
