See Google loves text and hates just a page full of links. That's why with something like a DDL site you have to work so hard to make it look like it has real content and isn't just a page full of random links to different unrelated topics.
The existing HQ-Uploads, while rather slow, has a lot of text. This text has info and description and then a link to a page with this info repeated and even more related text and keywords. Google loves this. You have an intro page with text and then links to another page with even more related text. If you think about it it even makes sense.
Your planning to have a page full of just links. Google doesn't like these sorta things at all. DDL's works as they counteract this with large number of warez sites linking into them and do other stuff like stuffing lots of keywords in and around the links.
Don't look too much at Katz as it relies more on returning direct traffic rather than organic traffic like other DDL sites. I keep saying DDL as that's basically what your into page is now going to be like.
So what I suggest:
Have something like HotfileServe but have a small amount of text just under the link. Maybe 3-4 lines is enough. You don't need images but the additional text will really help. This is probably the best of both as it will still be really fast and you'll have good text for google to read while still retaining a large amount of links to crawl and navigate.
EDIT:
I was typing when your replied. As you can see with the quantity it took a while.
