I would like to give everyone a warm welcome to WarezScene 2010.

For those who are new, or simply don't know, WarezScene was originally founded as a forum in 2007. We attained over 400,000 members with well over three million articles prior to deciding to relaunch.

Why would we relaunch you ask? Variety of reasons.

For a start, we had a lot of content -- although the majority was old. This led to excessive resources being taken up.. on things as simple as search. So, we thought about it, and why not start new? Brand new downloads.. from 2010, all working from the start. Brand new member database.. only new and active users. Brand new skin.. reflecting the change into the new generation.

The forum is now only part of the WarezScene experience. Notice we're on a subdomain? Over the coming days, there will be a variety of new things that will benefit users that visit us. Here's a few:

  • Downloads -- a download CMS that Uploaders will have access to. Highly optimized with SEO, it will receive a flood of traffic that will ensure Uploaders not only get a lot of points from the forum, but also there too.
  • Porn -- with the removal of adult content, we figured as most people still want it, we will also develop a CMS where everyone who applies is welcome to post adult content. This will be the only NSFW part of WS2010.
  • Torrents -- a torrent crawler. This will not be a tracker, but rather a crawler that indexes the best trackers around. This is our first step to providing non-HTTP downloads.
  • Webmasters --there's a variety of webmaster sites around.. but this will be different. Focusing on the warez webmaster market, we will also be open to any type of site genre. We will do it right, unlike other proclaimed "webmaster forums". It will contain a forum, wiki, and even eBooks released by the owners of WarezScene.
Within time we're also planning a DDL site. One that will compete with the current offerings out there, simply because we have the high traffic capability that others have been unable attain. Sure, we will require a backlink, but we won't be demanding you trash your header unlike some DDL's.

We've got all the bases covered with the forum though, some of which are discussed below:

Are you an old member of the community? Some of you may be annoyed at the loss of content and starting afresh.. however, if you were an old user with either a post count of 1,000+ or in generally a well respected user, contact one of the Administration and we will gladly set you in the veteran group. Tell us your old post count, and heck, even your original join date -- and this will be reflected in the postbit.

Staff? We've been collaborating with the majority of our old staff workforce during the downtime, and we're happy to say, a good majority are returning. Who are the two co-owners? Myself, and a familiar face to the majority of you -- Turbobrick. He's a close friend to myself and has been the main designer and coder to the backend here at WarezScene. His other aliases in the past include Omega, Baby Jesus, and Sharplead. The site hasn't been sold whatsoever, and will remain business as usual.

Administration? There will be four people in the Administration to start with. Turbobrick and myself will be the network administration. This means we'll control all the subdomains on the site. Alykatz is the Forum Leader, meaning she will make the critical decisions upon WarezScene. Wardog is also here.

If you're interested in checking how WS2010 works, check around the Announcement/Tutorials section periodically for tutorials and such.. explaining in depth the features of the site.

UltimA did a big shit with warezscene,deleted all members and posts.I lost also my lifetime vip account:(.

I am sure they do plan on giving vip back to those who had it. Probably with just a confirmation via paypal or whatever you used to pay.
 
Really big mistake if you ask me. I've rebuild databases as big as WS.

If you take a site offline for that length you could easily have the whole thing rebuilt, cleaned and optimized by now.

If you clean a Database properly you can remove up to 80% leaving one of the best forums in the world. A missed opportunity if you ask me. You don't seam to have any features to prevent it from filling with poor quality posts again.

I know it's a million times easier to restart from scratch but it's worth the effort. Take WBB as an example and how much time and people are working constantly to upgrade and rebuild it to PHPBB 3.

I'll be rejoining for sure but think you've just shot yourself in the foot.
 
yea they already gave fano vip because he had it before. Just ask I guess.

How the hell does a brand new forum with almost zero posts run out of memory?

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 5242880) (tried to allocate 44 bytes) in /home/wsfmz/domains/forum.warezscene.org/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 5269

Also I can't login. I tried to reset my password and got this error
Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in [path]/includes/class_core.php on line 408

Now my password is half reset but no verification email. How is a brand new site so full of errors?

Your better off taking it offline until you've all the errors fixed.

Kind of funny they wanted a fresh start to have clean content, database ect and already errors.

Seems like there mixing everything in the warez scene and creating a megasite. I mean they plan to add a DDL, a download CMS, torrents, porn, warez webmaster forum.

And all that downtime for a slightly modified version of a free skin? Come on, I was expecting more then that. :|

Can't. The errors have screwed up my profile and it's now saying that

You have not entered an email address that we recognize.

When earlier it recognized it.

I'm with you Loget. Very very disappointed. A relaunch has such potential. It's like all the hype and build up of VB4 and then just total disappointment.


EDIT: Just re-registered which has worked this time.

when you imed me i told you straight away youd get your vip back an all you did was throw a bitch fit at me...if you cant be arsed to show some common curtesy why should i?
 
There was nothing wrong with the prior database, it was purely out of choice to do this. Fact is, due to WarezScene's past traffic, we'll have no problem getting new members or posts. Remember we aren't a small website powered by 5,000 hits/day DDL traffic. WarezScene wasn't powered by the members that were inactive or the dead posts.

The forum was our priority to get up -- now it's online. The rest of the subdomains will be coming at short intervals -- they are what's gonna make it worth it. vBulletin 4 is awful, no interest in using that. Focus is to be a megasite as opposed to just a forum. Remember the forum is just the community part of the site; stats don't matter, the people do.

Errors are simply issues with the shoutbox; it's removed, and the site is back to normal.

For those bitching about "lost VIP", fuck me, why not send a PM and ask before assuming?

How about increasing memory_limit in php.ini and setting display_errors to off?
