I wanted to know a server to host my movies for my website. Do I need a dedicated server? I'm not sure what I need.

Dedicated is better, No one like to provide vps for this bandwidth intensive tasks.

If you're planning to stream, make sure streaming is allowed. Basic streaming servers start at over 100 dollars.

And make sure it's 'offshore'.

If you wanted to stream movies there are some hosting providers who provide streaming dedicated servers, you can go with those servers. VPS are bit cheaper but you wont get proper network .

If you have small amount of files , you can try with VPS for streaming, but if you have many customers in your website , then better dedicated server.

I don't have many customers about 100 users, but I have a lot of 4TB files at the moment.

Most VPS providers won't allow you to stream. Even dedicated servers under 100 dollars disallow streaming.
