Greetings,
Lag first opened during Summer 2017, but we had to pause the project due to schedule limitations.
Forums reopened today; reviews would be helpful and very welcome.

Here's a simple presentation of Lag, how it works and other interesting informations.

Looks OK but you'll have a really hard time getting traffic because people just use game specific subreddits nowadays. In fact a lot of official forums of games have turned into a wasteland because most moved to Reddit. Nice domain btw.

I agree with you. I did think about the subreddits even before going any further in the project, but I thought that considering how limited are the subreddits compared to a real whole board dedicated to gaming, I still might have a chance.

Honestly I personally prefer Reddit over traditional forums in most cases and I've never really felt it was limited. If anything it has some really nice benefits. That's just my opinion though. Forums in general have lost a lot of popularity mostly because newer and better things have come along. If you know some forums that have been around for some time you should check their traffic. Most have lost huge chunks of traffic while Reddit and social media have gained lots of traffic. At any rate, doesn't hurt to try.

You're totally right.
By limited, I meant that the subreddits are like sub-sections from a bigger forum; therefor, itsn't really specialized in video games and gaming as Reddit is more like a general website/"board" while Lag is a hundred percent into this domain. Dunno if you're getting what I mean.

No I get what you're saying. It might look like that at first sight from the outside but that's not how it works in practice. For example let's say I like gaming + a few games. I could simply subscribe to the following subreddits (random picks):

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/
https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/
https://www.reddit.com/r/FORTnITE/

Now when I visit the reddit frontpage I'll only see content from those, or I could just visit the specific subreddit. It's as general or specific as you make it. It being all in one place is extremely convenient. Like, if I wanted a forum about Python programming I'd just subscribe to https://www.reddit.com/r/Python/ and I wouldn't need to bother with creating an account on yet another random website. Or if I bought a PS4 I can sub to https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/. Etc etc. It's all there. There's a subreddit for everything. Not to mention the fact that it's user-moderated (upvote good stuff, downvote garbage away) makes it so that the best and most recent content always bubbles to the top.

It's still worth giving it a try. No website should rule over everything, including Reddit or Facebook. The diversity is what makes Internet and its content precious.

This right here is what matters. Big sites can discourage others to create their own communities, but at the end of the day the best people you meetonline come from the small ones.
