I would go with the dell even though the specs are a little less dell is just a over all better brand

^ I have nopt read the specs yet but still go for an HP laptop.
I have a HP Laptop that is around 8-9 years old and still works like a charm
would recommend an HP machine over a Dell

Pay attention that the processor of this HP Pavilion is the 3rd generation, while Dell is the 2nd generation.

Don't look at the brand or any crap, they'll live if you treat em well.

Overall Dell may be a better brand but HP is not bad at all just a minor less graded.

Plus Overall the specification of HP's laptop is Superior.

Built Quality is very good of both the company.

I'd prefer Dell over HP, but in this case, you've got an amazing comparison - 2nd Gen Core i5 vs 3rd Gen Core i5, so i'll have to choose HP here.

Both brand were good quality. I can tell you that since I am using a DELL laptop for over 5 years now and its properly working except for the battery that needs a replacement. I also have an HP mini 210 and been using it for 3 years and still a good charm. So both brands are well-known to the quality and performance. In this specs you've shown I think HP would be a good choice.

i read it mate bec ia m using dell so i also wrote for my opinion ok dell is better i personally use it brother i just wrote my opinion dell normal confg is also good then other thats why i say i have also own dell laptop if he have lots of money then buy sony laptop leave both laptop and buy sony that much better ok high confug then use sony ok

i am using Dell also , but i will tell u to buy HP becuase shape wise its perfect also when we talk about performance same processor can't produce different result and also try to buy six cell battery which longer more than 3 hours

If I were given the choice, I would have gone for the HP here in question.

You will be getting double the bus speed for the HM76 Express than the HM67 in the Dell.
More HDD space with the HP.
Better dedicated GPU.
