How do I mass edit HTML files?

I know how to do this via Frontpage but I need a tool to edit a site which is already live(which can be put offline while being edited, that's not an issue).

The tool needs to basically perform mass editing.
For eg. This is what I am currently using:

<li><span>Web Hosting</span></li>
<li><span>Domain Names</span></li>
<li><span>Reseller Hosting</span></li>


Now let's say in future, I need to add one more option and make it as:

<li><span>Web Hosting</span></li>
<li><span>Domain Names</span></li>
<li><span>Cloud Hosting</span></li>

For that I can't sit and edit all the files. I need a tool which can connect to my site(probably via FTP) and perform the edit, by using like Find and replace tool which is there in frontpage.

Fast and easy notepad, find and replace your old by your new text.
 
do you mean edit in many html files?
For the future, can u use PHP on your hosting?
Why didn't you put that code in footer.php?
