I think it is a good suggestion to start a paid membership in WJ.

Paid members can have a private forum category, and all those forum rank/username color etc options.

Paid members can post in advertisement section more frequently, and have other perks as well.

it will also help control those oneman hostings advertising here just to scam people, as people can trust a paid member more than a normal member.

P.S.- count me as first ViP member if you start this :) .

Actually, it won't change a thing. It would create even worse misery.
People would understand a paid membership as a guarantee (just like you do), and we cannot guarantee anything related to 3rd party sites.
And no, we will not start separating people on those who can pay, and those who can't. Separation of people in groups is always worst possible idea. We treat each member equal.
It is pretty naive believing that money would solve issues with someone's moral. Those without moral would go first to buy membership, and make you believe that they are honest. Money doesn't buy that.

Now that i read what cvrle77 has said, it does sort of change my mind about thinking it would be a good idea. Separation of the people is never a good idea.

Like cvrle said, it's horrible idea.

I could register new account in 5 days, buy premium membership for 10 bucks, scam someone for $200, get banned, then repeat process again.

I have seen this type of thread many times on many sites.

Some sites enact this type of member group and it fails, others reason it out like cvrle77 has and did not bother.

The problem being is you can not confidently endorse any seller as being honest or trouble free.

If you do and the seller fails that leaves the site in a bad position.

I know the web hosts, especially the newer hosts, are envious of the file host and payment processor user groups and many have voiced that they should have 1 also. What they fail to realize is these groups were set up so the site could verify these group members as official reps of these services. These groups were created not for the file hosts or payment processors but so the general membership can ID these people as confirmed working for these service providers and the members of this group have no special privileges. It is a badge nothing more.

I do not see any reason for a paid membership group on this site. I will not list the reasons because I can think of many and could probably come up with more given a little time.

Because it was mentioned as a reason to enact this type of group I will give my thoughts to control the hosting section and those listing in it. I do not think the idea would be very popular, although it would remove the kiddie hosts and those 1 person hosts from being able to list here.

I am sure there are few hosts here that would want to or could submit business registrations, Tax Authority certifications, articles of incorporation, or any other relevant official business documentation to prove they are in fact a legitimate business before being able to list here.

Even then there is still no guarantee that someone will not get scammed or receive shitty service, but it would thin out the hosting section and more then likely put the majority listing there out of business.

If you want to spend money on the site buy advertising.

ok, than no paid membership . I got all your points , and realize that it maight be a not so good idea.

it was not all about just hosting providers.

There isn't any leet info you could pay for. We don't condone hacked/leeched accounts as well. Buying premium membership isn't appropriate for this kind of website. Things of that nature conform to the realm of sites like crackingforum. Besides Google and YouTube have most the info you need on "webmastry".

its not about trust. its just a normal idea about membership. look, many members here donot spend anything, and they are not interested in things that service providers etc wants to discuss, it will be good to have a hidden forum, where people can discuss various strategies etc without having to worry about other non serious people trolling about the topic which they dont understand.
