Bots or spammers?

I've been recently banning users on my forum, posting like crazy, with the same ip's.

Here is short list:

And I have more usernames with the same ips..

My question is, wtf is this? Bots? Normal people?

Bots. phpbb has a large amount of spam bots you can easily find with a quick google search. You need to have your server people block bots except ones from SEs.

People simply use programs to do such things in mass. Vbulletin offers slightly better plugins against spam bots, but I have yet to find any board that is completely immune to them.

Can You Guys Please Tell Me Which Script Is Available For VB To Protect From Bots?

Alex, I would post that question on the VB forums, different versions have different security measures, and new plugins are constantly coming out that beat out the last one.

But guys, do a bot uploads to extabit and other filehosts? Don't think so.

Bots spam with links to crappy sites, not with uploads -_-

Of course they can. Who's to say what they're spamming isn't infected with a virus so as soon as people download it, boom, computer taken over, or they steal CC#s, ect..

I've caught people doing this exact thing many times before.

bots = do anything without human intervention

just add captcha for creating new threads or question answer for creating new thread

As i mentioned to you before, you cannot stop them. If you add a captcha, i'll add a captcha bypass. you add a random question, i'll remember the questions and answer them automatically next time.

Bottom line, there is nothing you can do. The best course of action is to have a good team of moderators with a good morale. I do find that chatboxes and teamspeaks bring people together and create relationships. Even if it is a staff-only chatbox. This in turn brings your team together and encourages them to work towards the common goal.

And on the other note i never called u a spammer i called ur bot :D
And in the same way i dont call Bill Gates A Hacker but Windows is a tool used by hackers like ur multiposter is used uploaders to spam :D
