I think he means THREADS.
Go to AdminCP->Post icons->Manage post icons->Delete the generic ones.
and then In Post icons->Add a new post icon

The mod your looking for is called Catagory Icons:

Its quite a nice hack if you have the good looking images otherwise it will only make your forum look uglier.

With that said I must admit that the icons Smartwarez uses are pretty nice
